Hi there and welcome to our blog! We are portrait photographers from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We love shooting engagements, newborns, families, couples, individuals, travel and lifestyle. This is where you’ll find all the cool new stuff we’ve been up to lately. We put new images up here on a weekly basis, so if you haven’t yet, make sure to bookmark this site or add it to your RSS reader!
Also, feel free to check out some of our work. Here are links to our portfolios!
Well, we’re currently done outdoor shooting for the year. The snow on the ground this morning just reinforces that for us (we’re not down with the cold weather). But now as we’re starting to finish up all our wedding stuff, we’re realizing that we have thousands of really cool photos that never got published. So I’m going to start posting one photo a day! Feel free to post any thoughts on the image in the comments. I think I’ll bring back the 100th commentor contest. If you are the one who comments on a -00 then you’ll win a free fine art travel print from us! Woo!!
First up, a frame from the Amerstdam airport on our trip to Greece.
P.S. We’re fairly close to the next -00 so comment away! But don’t leave multiple comments, or just filler comments. Trust me, I can delete comments and I will :)
So I have something a bit fun today. I have two similar images, and want to know which one you prefer. Go based on instinct, don’t analyze composition or anything. Just which one you like more the second you see it. I’m thinking about tones and overall *feel*, so if these were identical shots that would have been better :) I’ve got a little poll for you to vote on your fav. And if you want you can explain your answer in the comments!
If you’ve been following us for a while, you probably know that we really really like trying new types of photography. So when Skye gave us a shout asking if we could do some press shots for his band, we were pumped. We’ve never done anything like this before, and knew it would be crazy fun.
Now, we were on a short timeline, since these kids were getting written up in both Vue Weekly and the Edmonton Journal, and needed the photos fast. That meant that we got to shoot in the blistering cold. Like, really really cold. But I think it added this kinda neat feeling to the images. Like, these guys were cold :)
Anyways, if you’re bored tonight, I highly highly recommend you check out their CD release party. We’ve been lucky enough to go see them once, and it was honestly the most energetic, entertaining show I’ve seen in a long long time. True story. Here are the deets:

I can’t believe it’s snowing there! We’re in a heat wave in the 90’s and it’s just awful! I am so ready for fall/winter weather. It’s only been below the mid 80’s for one day and that was 2 Saturday’s ago. So sad.

I LOVE pictures that make me do a double-take, like this one. It took me a second to figure out just what this was.
Thanks for sharing!!
